Analysis of Action crime

Ill Manors

A joint and lighter seen first, instantly giving a impression that there would be a association of a negative background. A close up on the drugs instantly makes us think about what type of film its going to be.

The small room suggests poverty and the man is a working class man. The fact that the man is smoking drugs wearing tracksuits conforms to stereotypes like working class youth in social housing.

This actor has flashing jewellery which suggests wealth which conforms to some stereotypes like if someone in social housing has jewellery they are probably drug dealers.

There are several shots of the settings, showing scruffy and unpleasent estates reinforcing the idea that there is a negative upbringing. Showing a neighboorhood of houses emphasises the film is revolved around a working class area. Again this might link to a negative background.

Drugs are shown  repetitively through out the opening scene emphasising that there is a great importance of drugs through the film.

A mixture of ethnicities are shown therefore there is no target on representing a target of a specific ethnic background.
